We get to know a little more about ‘the landlords’ assistant paultsmouth.

1 – Vital Pompey username?
Paultsmouth, self-explanatory really I’m called Paul, I support Pompey, although one certain sometime contributor (dashi) has really struggled to get it!

2 – Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
Originally hail from Hertfordshire, Hatfield then Harpenden, but have been in Gosport since the age of 7.

3 – How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
February 2006, during the start of the great escape, it was a lot quieter back then, with people debating if Harry coming back was a good or bad thing.

4 – What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
Only Pompey site I’ve felt obliged to register to, I ended up doing match previews and reviews within a couple of months, now I just do the previews and spout off in an article every now and then.

5 – How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
Stumbled upon it, I was on a site called clan Pompey somehow, this had a link to newsnow, and I read an article called Pompey fans not to be seen, (still says that on my favourites list)

6 – When did you first watch Pompey live – not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
About November 1979, went with my dad in the pouring rain, sat on the redgra running track and was hooked, I think it was Plymouth, can’t remember if it was or what the score was! Still, I got home and my replica Liverpool shirt never came out again!

7 – How often do you get to watch Pompey?
Season ticket holder in D section, and squeeze in 1 or 2 away games a year, 3 kids having put paid to my regular sojourns, next one is Newcastle next month.

8 – Who is your favourite Pompey Player – current and/or former?
Can’t say I’ve got a current favourite, the team is playing way above a standard I thought I would ever see, in years gone by I worshiped Alan Biley, Hateley, Kuhl and Kennedy, I always liked 100% players who gave their all.

9 – What is you favourite Pompey moment?
Both semi-finals in 1992, the promotions of ’83, ’87, and 2002, beating Spurs at the third time of trying in ’85, but 4-1 against our lovely rivals and ultimately relegating them tops the lot.

10 – What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
Europe looks a real target this year, and then its onward and upward, off the pitch I would love to see a new ground come off after so long, if it doesn’t I fear our roller coaster ride will head for a downward surge within the next few years, and this time it could be even longer before we claw back.
