I know the FA cup is rightly the thing that is most important to us at the moment, but there is also the ‘Friends of Kanu’ game taking place on Monday night, which could give some of you the chance to see some of our players for the first time since winning the cup – which hopefully we will do!

I have been told by a source within the club that Kanu’s agent has confirmed that the following players will be turning out on Monday night:

Lomana LuaLua
Yakubu
Anton Ferdinand
Joseph Yobo
Danny Shittu
Marlon King
Efe Sodje
Sam Sodje
Akpo Sodje

He is also awaiting confirmation from Emmanuel Adebayor, but he could be another to turn out. However I have been told to point out that these players are subject to change.

Last season Sulley Muntari took part in the game, which seemed to confirm that ‘rumours’ of a move to Pompey were true – and sure enough he soon signed. Without speculating too much John Mensah is being ‘rumoured’ to be another name that will take part, and he too is being heavily linked with Pompey, so this might be our first chance to see him first hand…

Kick Off is 7.30pm and tickets cost just £10 for adults and £5 kids, which I think is fantastic value for money, particularly when you think of the stars that will be on display – as they were last season – you will get great value for money, and most importantly of all it is of course for a good course – The Kanu Heart Foundation.

There are also Hospitality tickets available, these are priced at £30 per head in the Victory Suite for a Carvery and just £50 in Montgomery Lounge for a 3-course meal and match ticket.

I know it has been a long hard season, and season tickets have been or will be renewed so funds might be at an all time low but you will be treated to a good game, which although played in good spirits will be competitive and well worth a watch. The tricks should be on full display as they were last season.

Fans are being encouraged to buy tickets this week ahead of the game as the club want to avoid huge queues on Monday.

Tickets can be bought through Ticketmaster by calling 0844 847 1898 (£2 charge applies) or in person at the club’s ticket office in Rodney Road.
