Pompey settle for 3800 tickets

I know I said only yesterday that the FA cup game with United needed to be put on the backburner for now and focus on the next two league games was most important at the moment – starting against Sunderland this weekend – but with the ticket allocation for that game confirmed it needed a mention…

6000 tickets were available to the club and we have decided to take up the option on a little over half the amount, with 3800 requested – and these are on sale to everyone now.

The game is being shown on the box and has the early kick off time of 12.45, so it could be too difficult for some to get to, so they might think it is just as well to watch it on the box. Is 3800 tickets too few, not enough or just right? My own thinking is this is a decent amount.

So far – up until this morning – just over 1000 have been sold, but whatever tickets remain unsold – if they are – the club have to pay for anyway so you can understand why the full allocation has not been taken up.

To be honest if we can sell the full allocation we have taken – and even with the factors mentioned there is every chance – then 3800 will be a very good turnout wouldn’t it.
