Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

6/10/1889: Harold Buddery
6/10/1930: Brian Edwards
6/10/1951: David Gregory

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Harold Buddery, Brian Edwards and David Gregory – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

I would be lying if I said I knew much about Gregory and/or Edwards, as I cannot say I do with Buddery most definitely before my – and anyone else’s of course – time seen as he was born back in 1889.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 14
Won – 8
Drawn – 2
Lost – 4

Not too many games actually played on this day in the last 20-years or so but I can claim the most recent as my only one.

I do remember MK Dons pretty well, a game we should have won really but a draw at the stadium:mk was still a decent result in 2012. However, it was the game where Adam Webster ‘lost it’ as a Pompey player with his confidence draining away after an own goal – fortunately he ‘found it’ again though and the rest is history.

What are your memories of Buddery – clearly too early for anyone, Edwards and/or Gregory from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?

PLAY UP POMPEY
