25/9/1978: Roudolphe Douala
25/9/1986: Jamie O’Hara
Happy birthday to Roudolphe Douala and Jamie O’Hara – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.
Douala had his moments but a game against Newcastle – I think it was at St James’ Park – sticks in my mind where he missed a couple of really good chances in a live Sky Sports game from a Sunday when Pompey eventually lost.
His loan spell from Tottenham was great and perhaps the fact he only remained for this meant we got the very best out of O’Hara, who had been linked with a return several times.

A pretty good day with 8 wins from 18 – I can only claim the one game myself though from back in 1999 where the Blues were beaten at Fratton Park by Grimsby.
