Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

26/9/1933: John Davies
26/9/1944: Alan Stephenson
26/9/1979: Jon Harley

From the Ed

Happy birthday to John Davies, Alan Stephenson and Jon Harley – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Davies and Stephenson were both before my time and not really known to me, the former most likely wasn’t seen by many, if any.

I do recall the spell of Harley but his days with clubs before his time at Fratton Park are what he’ll be best recalled for – he did ok though.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 15
Won – 4
Drawn – 3
Lost – 8

Awful day, all being well it’ll improve this evening when Bristol Rovers come to Fratton.

I’ll not be at the Park tonight so the visit from Sunderland in 1998 – which ended in a draw – will remain my only game.

What are your memories of Davies – probably too early for anyway, Stephenson and/or Harley from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?

PLAY UP POMPEY
