We get to know a little more about steaming.

1 – Vital Pompey username?
Steaming.

2 – Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
Born in Jersey and live in Jersey!

3 – How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
Probably about two years.

4 – What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
Really the best “Pompey” site around. Good contributors, sound discussion and always fresh.

5 – How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
Via the Newsnow site.

6 – When did you first watch Pompey live – not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
It was the mid to late fifties when the lads came to Jersey for a friendly. The most memorable part of that tour for me was meeting Jimmy Dickinson and the lads when they visited our school. I suppose I was about 12 at the time. The first time I went to a league game was many years later. Can’t remember exactly when. But we were in the fourth division and beat Darlington 2 – 1 after being one down at half time.

7 – How often do you get to watch Pompey?
I try to get over once a year at least. Made it this year for the Reading game – how lucky can you get!!! Hope to be back for the Chelsea game, if not before. And every time they are on SKY.

8 – Who is your favourite Pompey Player – current and/or former?
Difficult!! You just can’t help liking Benjani. Wish he wouldn’t take penalties, though! But the silky skills of Niko are admirable. The solid and professional Distin and Campbell are such a key to our current success. Love ’em all really!! Former players – other than Arthur Conan Doyle (I never saw him play!), it has to be Gentleman Jim. The one and only.

9 – What is you favourite Pompey moment?
Two seasons ago a group of us from the Jersey Supporters Club went to the Man City game – expecting it to be out last visit for a Premiership game to some years. That 93rd minute strike from Pedro is something I (and many others) will never forget. That was the start of the great escape and the rest is history. I am proud to say “I WAS THERE!!!!!!”

10 – What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
Premiership success is built, these days, on huge amounts of money, good management and a hint of good fortune. As things stand at the moment we have all that. If Sacha stays and continues to invest, nothing is beyond us. I agree with what Harry is saying – a top ten would be good. But anything less would be disappointing. Europe must be the target, but that is the target for, what, a dozen clubs – but why not us? Champions League – could be done within 2 years. It won’t be the same top four forever!!! Realistic, I don’t know. Isn’t the game really about the dream?!?!?!
