James seeking no move

Prior to the Hull game David James made it clear, apparently so, in an interview given to The News that he ‘did not want to leave.’

Speculation has been rife that the England international could have left over the summer, maybe that he even wanted to, and could still very well do this in the New Year – but James says that he is ‘settled’ with us and we ‘just need to pick up results,’ the first of which he felt could have been Hull, as that was an ‘opportunity’. He was happy enough with his post game thoughts as well though, so seems happy enough with a 0-0 draw…

He also said that he would prefer us – understandably so, as we all would – to be in ‘a better position’ but wants to help us out of trouble and feels that things are better now that we have the ‘ownership issues now settled,’ but do we?

James has also revealed another reason for his settled approach is his son, who he says is training with us: ‘I am happy. My son is training with the club.

‘I’d rather the team were in a better position but, as a player, I am responsible for where the team ends up.

‘With the ownership settled, most things are in place. We just need to pick up some results.

‘It is surreal right now because there is a good vibe about the place for a club at the bottom.’

We will see what January brings – it ‘seems’ like James is once again pledging his loyalty to us, we now have to see if we will also show this to him, or will we be looking to offload him…
