Hart on bore draw at Hull

Paul Hart was ‘content’ with the point we gained at Hull, a point he felt should have been more as we ‘deserved to win’ despite his acknowledgment it was ‘the worse we had played in a month’.

He feels that we ‘created chances’ we just needed, and still do need to take with him feeling Aruna Dindane was unlucky to see his ‘goal bound’ effort blocked by his own player Younes Kaboul – from where I was standing it looked to be going wide to be honest?

See Hart’s views on the this and more, including thoughts on being an ‘attacking side’ that still has ‘great spirit’, in this sky sports video below…

For me, on the evidence of this game, this was a couple of poor sides that will do well to escape from the bottom 3 come May. Also for me we seemed to go out with a negative mindset, with ensuring we got a point the priority – sending 3 players back to the half way line to mark a solitary striker when we had a last minute penalty seemed to confirm this, as did the lack of changes made.

I also cannot quite get my head round the thinking of using Jamie O’Hara in such a deep role with Aaron Mokoena further advanced than him? Surely the pair would have preferred to line up in reversed roles? This move seemed to leave both much less effective than they could have been, and for large periods see both wasted. Granted O’Hara can pass the ball so springing attacks from deep was the thinking, but with Mokoena giving the ball away so cheaply so often did not help at all…

This point ‘could’ prove vital in the grander scheme of things, but at this point in time the willingness to settle for this seems an odd thing to have done, but hey ho lets draw on the positives eh!
