From the horses mouth…

I have it on good authority that due diligence, despite what is being reported and said – myself included, is not yet complete.

But, and there is almost always a but…

We are in the final throws of this being done and edging ever closer to having that side of the propose takeover complete – everyone on the PFC side of things is confident that this will happen, and not just in an optimistic sense!

The main reason why things seem to be taking so long?

Well, it is not really taking as long as it seems, usually the thing with these takeover deals is they happen during a season and with things going on in the meantime – and the transfer window being closed – you have things to occupy you. As we are in ‘the off season’ and of course the transfer window is open but we cannot do anything this seems to make it worse, when its not!

As always, we have to remember we are talking a ‘multi million pound’ investment here – think ‘buying a house’ and what this entails and multiply that by several hundred and you are getting somewhere near, still way off but near, to the complexity of it, think of all the contracts that need checking through, including small print…

As for Peter Crouch, again contrary to what is being said, Pompey have not put the England international up for sale.

Here is that ‘but’ again…

As is being reported, big money offers have been received, and it is possible, maybe more than possible, that he will be leaving Fratton again – but not to ‘balance any books!’

Again, and to make it clear though Pompey have not put him up for sale, you may well notice the only talk being done is by the clubs interested and mostly his agent, make of this what you will…
