This is a welcome sight, the above image of David James back in training for Pompey!

The Pompey Site reports that the Pompey and England no.1 was able to report back to pre-season training with other Pompey players, those that had been expected, from the start.

Further positive news was the presence of Niko Kranjcar and long-term injury absentee Papa Bouba Diop – god, did we not miss The Wardrobe in his absence! – after injury absences for the pair last season.

After their international exploits this summer, at various levels, Peter Crouch, The Herminator, John Utaka, Nadir Belhadj and Martin Cranie were all granted a longer time away before reporting back.

Of course Sol Campbell – who is not expected to return and Kanu – who most probably will, but at his own leisure, have not in attendance at the Eastleigh training ground.

Lets hope that this time next year, when pre-season begins, this can be starting at a brand spanking new training complex eh!
