Mad returns with his latest update from the African nations.

Its been a week of shocks in the African Cup of Nations and yesterday there was another one. Gabon beat 2002 winners and second favourites Cameroon 1-0 with a goal from Hull City Striker and Gabon Captain Daniel Cousin.

The Cameroon team included Arsenals Alex Song, former Chelsea and Newcastle defender Geremi & former Barcelona and now Inter striker Eto’o. Gabon scored on 16 minutes when Meye played a ball into the box to Cousin who slid it neatly past the Cameroon keeper. Cameroon had chances to equalise which included a 30 yard freekick by Geremi which was dipping under the crossbar until Ovono tipped it over the bar.

In fact Ovono the Gabon keeper was my Man Of The Match, he pulled off some great saves and was determined not to concede a goal. Ovono plays for Le Mans and another player who I will be looking at throughout the tournament. I hope to see him in the Premier League someday.

In the days other game Zambia drew 1-1 with Tunisia. Zambia scored on 18 minutes when
Mulenga hit a first-time shot past Tunisia’s keeper Mathlouthi, who could have saved it.
5 minutes before the break, Tunisia equalised when Msakni ran into the box to square to
Dhaouadi, who smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

Best game of the week in my opinion was the Egypt v Nigeria match, where Egypt came from a goal behind to beat Nigeria 3-1.
