David James’ move away from Pompey looks to have moved a step closer after former Pompey manager Tony Pulis confirmed that talks are talking place regarding a move to Stoke: ‘we have made an enquiry for David and the chief executive (Tony Scholes) is talking to Peter Storrie at Portsmouth as we speak.

‘We’ll have to see what happens, but there could be other clubs in for him.’

As said previously I still think that James is a fantastic keeper but do think that it is in the best interests of everyone that he moves on now to be honest – wages, and who pays them/how much, could be an issue though…
