What made you support West Ham mate?
I grew up in a Spurs supporting family, but unlike the rest of my family I had committed no sins in a previous life and so escaped that bind… And West Ham beat Man Utd when I was 6. I was sold.

Are you happy with how your season is going so far?
After last season (And 2003; And the 2 years spent in the Championship), being mid-table in the top flight is a treat. What’s more we’ve won away from home – twice!

Curbishley had a difficult time for a while last season, but he kept you up – how do you think he is doing?
He’s doing alright. I like he fact we’ve only had 11 managers in 100 years (12 if we include Sir Trev) and would be gutted if we were to start chopping and changing like so many clubs do. Sometimes though, he makes some odd decisions. The club need to stick with him for a few years and let him develop his own team.

How do you rate his signings so far? Although he has been unlucky with many of them getting injured!
Bellamy is a great player for a club of our stature. I suspect Dyer and Ljungberg will prove pretty handy too. We have been unlucky with injuries but we’ve bought players with a bit of previous in this regard. Who couldn’t predict an injury for Dyer on the day he signed?

Will he need more in January – and will he get them?
The money is there. Do we need them? Whilst you can always improve a squad, if we signed another striker in the Ashton / Bellamy price range, could we really keep 3 of them happy? I can’t see Andy Johnson wanting to warm the bench at Upton Park.

Who is the West Ham danger man that Pompey should watch?
Bellamy (whilst Ashton is out)

How do you reckon West Ham will go this season?
In the middle of the mid table. 9th to 11th.

What about Pompey?
In the Uefa cup or very close.

If you could take any Pompey player from our squad and put him in yours, who would it be and why?
Glen Johnson would be welcomed back. Papa Bouba Diop would be pretty handy as would Benjani’s goals.

Go on – who is going to win, Pompey or West Ham?
I hate to say it, but Portsmouth. I’d be delighted with a point.
