1 – Vital Pompey username?
Pompeycarpet: I was feeling unimaginative when I was making it, and saw that pompeyrug was the editor?
2 – Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
Born in Surrey, grew up in Surrey, live in Surrey. But my heart has always been in Portsmouth.
3 – How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
Since May-ish this year. I found the site on newsnow, and couldn’t stand reading people’s comments, and not being able to object.
4 – What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
It’s a great place where people can comment on how they feel Pompey are doing, honestly, and without the threat of being shouted at for being wrong?(unlike the vital spurs site.)
5 – How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
As I said before, newsnow.
6 – When did you first watch Pompey live – not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
Much too recently and much too infrequently! I do like to think of myself as a lucky mascot, as whenever I have seen them play live, we have not lost.
7 – How often do you get to watch Pompey?
Not enough. I only saw them a few times last season, and I don’t have sky, so I am stuck to MOTD, and/or some possibly illegal site that lets me watch the games with Chinese commentary. (But I can now watch every game on this site.)
8 – Who is your favourite Pompey Player – current and/or former?
It is difficult to know who my “favourite” player is. I tend to like whoever is playing on the left side of midfield, as that is generally where I play (when I get the time) and I have always liked Niko – ever since a friend told me he was this “amazing player” who just scored goals, had a 100% pass success rate, and couldn’t be tackled (admittedly he DID say the same thing about Mbesuma and Alain Perrin?) – not quite true, but pretty accurate. I also think that some of our younger players are extremely classy, Mvuemba in particular.
9 – What is you favourite Pompey moment?
Losing to arsenal 5-1, and singing “we’re gonna beat you 6-5.”
10 – What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
New stadium, new training facilities and a decent academy. Success is built on these, and if we get them all quickly, then there will be nothing to stop us playing champions league football within 5 years – UEFA cup could come this year. Oh, and did I mention winning the FA cup?
