The ‘word on the street’ earlier in the week was that Jamie’s Dad, not content with pillaging Pompey as much as he has, wanted to come back once again – this time for James and was looking to offer £1m plus Carlo Cudicini in return. A decent deal some might say, but James is still one of the best around and you cannot replace his quality, command of the area and experience – all of which we will need this season.
Granted Cudicini is a decent keeper and one that probably has deserved to be more than a bit part player for the past decade! Although you also have to ask the question why has this been? Is this because on a long-term regular basis he is not the solution to any teams problems…
We must keep Jamo, he most certainly is our rock and will be instrumental for us this season!
Maybe more worryingly though he has also been ‘heavily linked’ to Sunderland, with it now confirmed to me that James does have a new girlfriend who is based in Cheshire – so a move to Sunderland ‘might’ not be as highly unlikely as it seemed?
Either what we just have to hope that he is as committed to staying as he said he was, but more importantly we are as committed to allowing him to stay as we say we are…
