A number of people have shared their thoughts – mainly Pompey but some Spurs and even other fans – and continue to do so, with these ranging from ‘comical’ responses to ‘deep and meaningful’ or ‘heartfelt’ reactions.

since1898: ‘An early train from fratton with a group of 20ish mates. A fair few beers. Then hopefully a close game. Sorry but I’m not very confident of a positive result however I do intend to have a great day out! PUP’
Chix: ‘After the upset of ’92 I never thought I’d ever get to see Pompey play in a cup final (boy were we close) but the experiences and memories of 2008 changed all that and will forever go with me to my grave. 2010 is a whole different ball game.. We are not playing a team from a lower division, we are not the favourites, we don’t have a team of stars (they all went to Spurs), we can’t even aspire to a European tour.. This time ‘Potless Pompey’ our ramshackled bottom of the table team of misfits, pensioners and other clubs players will take on a bitter rival on one of the worlds most modern and greatest stages. We do not expect pretty football, we do not expect a victory.. but as long as the Fratton Faithful are in full voice and as long as the Uncle Avram’s chosen XI roll up their sleeves, play to the best of there ability and fight for the cause, I will feel proud .. proud of us fans, proud of Avram and the coaching staff, proud of the players but most of all proud to be Pompey. Let’s roar the lads to victory.’

only 1 spurs: ‘Gotta be said im looking forward to the game you played well against us a couple of weeks ago hopefully we will have a few players back from injury and itl be a good day out for both!!! you may well be the underdogs but cup football is funny we all know that and chix the stars who came to spurs just decided to come HOME 😉 anyway whatever the outcome i really hope chelsea batter villa again or the final will be a bore!!!’

NorfolknBlue: ‘A last Hurrah!! Setting off Saturday morning, staying in Harrow overnight, watch the Chelsea v Villa game at the Hotel. Then Sunday morning down to Baker Street to meet up with those coming from Pompey for a few beers and off to Wemberley…’
storagematt: ‘After 35 years + of watching Pompey & the last 25 years religiously watching them at home & numerous away trips, this will be my last hurrah for a while, unless of course we win. Having put everything before my love for Pompey & now after a life changing emotional rollercoaster, it’s time for me to put life before Pompey. I’ll be taking my 13 year old daughter so she can experience Wembley. I just hope we give them a good game & we sing our hearts out. Nothing will erase the wonderful experiences of 2008, 3 trips to Wembley & 6 European trips.’

tracyc: ‘Completely gobsmacked that we’re back at Wembley in this season from hell of all seasons. In 08 it seemed surreal, now its beyond that. We can’t expect to win this time, but of course this is the Cup and you never know! The main thing that Sunday is about for me is getting behind our team, cheering and chanting and waving flags, and showing what our never say die Pompey attitude is all about. We’re going to have a fantastic day whatever happens on the pitch! I’m travelling up in a small group with Gandor and EastneyDave and we’re all going to the Torch to meet other vitalpompey members and the weather might even be good. I can’t wait!’
