John Utaka was being ‘linked’ with a move to Bordeaux the other day and now it is being claimed in an article on sky sports – which for me makes it something that ‘might’ be true – by their chairman, Jean-Louis Triaud, with he telling Aujourd’hui that the Nigerian ‘has been offered’ to the French club!
French legend Laurent Blanc is in charge of Bordeaux and Triaud says that he has just ‘passed the information on, but it is up to the coach to make his decision’ but also claimed that Utaka does want ‘to come back to France’.
Basically I said all I had to say the other day, if we can recoup a fair amount of the money we paid out, be that around £5m so be it, if we can get £7m it is a no brainer…
The Nigerian has shown glimpses of what he can do but I would rather get him off the wage bill for decent money than have to let someone more essential to the team go. Sorry John, but its thanks – for not much in truth – but goodbye as far as I am concerned now. I for one do hope that these ‘rumours’ prove true as to be honest I think it is probably for the best of all concerned that he did move on in the summer…
