So aside from our trip back out to Portugal, the club have confirmed other dates for the coming pre-season months. We are playing Havant & Waterlooville, Basingstoke and Eastleigh, and details of when these are can be found here.
Portsmouth City Council have confirmed that they will be applying to be a ‘host’ city when the World Cup returns to England in 2018. This therefore implies that a new stadium is on the horizon? Read more on this here and on the Official Site.
In order for us to get a new stadium, we’re going to need Dr SAF to invest heavily. There is some speculation that this will all fall through, however if you want reassurance that everything is going smoothly you can find it here.

Squad News
The speculation over the future or a particular player has developed at an alarming rate over the past few days. Firstly, Johnson categorically stated that ‘Portsmouth brought the love back’ and implied that he will be staying. You can read about that here. Secondly, The Mirror came out and said that Johnson would be moving away from Fratton, and you can see more about that here.
England games for Johnson came and went, and Johnson put in an absolutely phenomenal performance against Andorra in mid-week, earning Man of the Match along the way. You can read about his performance here.
I think Johnson was tapped up by his team-mates for England this week, as he has now spoken out in what is a Football Manager type press comment by saying he is ‘flattered’ by the attention from other clubs. Read about that and make your views known by clicking here.
Moving on to another defender who has been subject to speculation of a move to Anfield, and it has been made apparent that Aston Villa are willing to rival Liverpool for the Frenchman’s signature. Read about that here.

This week’s question:
There are five players who have played for at least THREE clubs who have all won the European Cup (Champions League or equivalent) but have never actually won the trophy themselves. In case that’s not clear, an example is:
Ronaldo (Brazilian one): Has played for Barcelona, PSV, Inter/AC Milan and Real Madrid (all teams that have won the trophy) but he never actually won it himself.
