When I was a young lad in the 70s, I remember watching an adventure series called the ‘The Flashing Blade’.
It was a badly dubbed programme about a couple of French Soldiers defending their lives, loved ones & castle against the Spanish. See this link to relive a few memories.
Anyway come this Sunday afternoon, we should all be hoping The Blades are cutting down our nearest foes.
For all the permutations going, if Sheffield Utd win then the scummers are in the third tier of English football. Followed by bottles of whatever being cracked open.
Those of us of a certain age, can still remember Pompey in the lower divisions, but for the scummers, unheard of to some generations.
If the scummers draw then Leicester need to match it, though they have a tough match away to Stoke. If the scummers win then it will drag Sheffield Wednesday, Coventry & Blackpool into the mix.
So play up the Blades, the Foxes, the Owls, the Sky Blues & the Tangerines!
Just in case some of were unaware. In 1976 when the scummers won the FA Cup, we were relegated to the third tier of English football!
They say what goes around, comes around!
To be honest as long as we win the FA Cup I couldn’t care what anybody else does. Though their relegation would put a huge cherry on a fantastic cake.
