Sure enough, it did!

Ronan Curtis’ strike – what a signing he’s been – at the end of the first half was enough to secure Pompey the points in a 1-0 win at the Ricoh Arena.
???? Ball forward from @Ben8Close, knockdown by Brett Pitman and @RonanCurtis1 does the rest ????
Two touches, feint, and then a tremendous strike ????????

Not only did this maintain our unbeaten record, but the victory also allowed us to keep the top spot. In fact, Pompey extended the advantage over Peterborough to three points and, albeit early days, opened up a bit of daylight between us and third-placed Doncaster, to six.
I said at the start of the season by game 12 we’d be top of the league by 5 points and people laughed…..win on Saturday and I’ll be the one laughing.

It’s too early to be celebrating a return to the Championship, but the early season form, without a doubt the results, suggests the Blues could be in for a very exciting campaign that may well result in another promotion? Yes, please.
This is getting ridiculous – Pompey 11 unbeaten after two away wins in four days. Way too early to talk promotion. Or is it ?

But there’s no reason why we shouldn’t relish our current position and enjoy it.
We don’t get too high and we don’t get too low…. once said a league winning manager!

Doing well, no point getting carried away, cos if we fall away it will hurt even more with hopes too high. Enjoy that we’re good, but let’s not shout our mouths off till February, then we’re know!!

Currently just enjoying the ride. Similar to Cooks team in 16/17, we’ll know if this team is ready for promotion by how they react after losing the first game.

I’m already looking forward to the next game at the weekend – Gillingham’s visit to Fratton Park isn’t going to be easy but there shouldn’t be any fear shown.
