Another day and another player ‘linked’ with Pompey, despite the transfer window closing…

This time The News has Dusko Tosic, a Serbian left back, down as being a player that ‘Pompey are reportedly hoping to tie up a deal for.’

I recall the name as having been linked with us in a loan capacity on deadline day but a deal could not be tied up, apparently.

Although now it is ‘said’ that the 25-year-old had his contract with Werder Bremen cancelled on Monday, so he has become a free agent and will sign an 18-month contract if he is given a work permit?

Ricardo Rocha is now training with the club so his move has moved closer – if it has not been sorted out? Quite why any player would want to play for free is beyond me, as that is what they are most likely going to do!

Also from The News today was a bit about David James with Avram Grant praising him for his loyalty to Pompey.

He says that having spoken to James that he wanted to stay, and this stay could extend beyond this season – well, this will be the case if he plays those extra games that he needs to in order to trigger that new contract. Although other ‘talk’ recently has said that negotiations are taking place about removing that clause in able to allow him to play out the season with us and keep his world cup dream alive…

PLAY UP POMPEY!
