Same England…usual Ticketmaster

It may be a new man in charge but yet again I came away after 90 minutes of so called ‘entertainment’ anything but entertained after England lost to a decent French team 1-0 in Paris? I again remembered why I do not really enjoy watching England anymore, and have not for some time?

The plus points were that I got to see not 1, but 2 Pompey players pull on the three lions, which was a bonus.

David James started, and whilst I hope he is not made the ‘scapegoat’ for defeat as it was he that conceded the penalty from which the French won, I was surprised that he did not leap at Nicolas Anelka’s feet to try and get the ball instead of basically misjudging and waiting for it, but there you go.

I still cannot quite understand why Wes Brown continues to be in the squad, let alone starting 11 as he looked, lets say uncomfortable… I was glad to see Glen Johnson eventually get on, as his form this season has deserved this. Hopefully he will start our next game, which I think is against the US of A?

All in all a night to forget, at least it made me tired so I was able to get to sleep quite easily ready for battle with Ticketmaster – not for my benefit, to have hopefully benefit 2 others! – this morning at stupid o’clock? another battle lost! What a joke that was, according to the online Ticketmaster service my ‘client reference number’ was not on their database! Not on their database, why not? It is good to see that all my years of support to Pompey see me recorded with such great pride eh! As for the phone lines, your havin’ a giraffe?

So like the other phases before phase 4 has sold out! A little over 1,100 tickets will be available from the ticket office next week on a ‘first come first served’ basis, but that will then be your lot fellas!

Anyway, at least we got to see James and Johnson both play for England last night, lets just hope that they, and all our other internationals come back unscathed and the next time they play at a national stadium they will have more success!
