Harry Redknapp has won his High Court case against the City of London Police, with the court ruling that the police raid on his Sandbanks home last year was ‘unlawful’ – as a result they have had to play £1,000 in damages and part of his legal costs.

The court ruled that the search warrant issued was invalid.

Redknapp’s solicitor, Mark Spragg, said: ‘this was an outrageous abuse of power by the police who ignored the rule book and executed an unlawful search warrant at 6am in the full glare of media coverage which they no doubt organised or at least did not discourage.’

It has been said that a statement will be issued on the Pompey Site later, if/when it is it will be added below…
