Primus keen to play at Wembley…

…Ok it will not be this season in the FA cup final but Linvoy Primus is targeting the charity shield, sorry it is the ‘community shield’ now, as his comeback date for Pompey – that is assuming he gets a new contract and of course we do win the FA cup.

Primus has said that his recovery is going very well and he should to be back with the rest of the squad when pre season training starts in July ahead of the curtain raiser for the 2008/09 season – and he hopes that both he and Pompey are a part of this.

The fans favourite is out of contract in the summer but things do seem to be pointing towards him getting another deal, which I think is something that he more than deserves for what he does for this club and the community. It was said to me the other day that he fully believes we will keep him, as if he did not he would have left some time ago.

Again, I did not see this myself – as I had to shoot off – but I was told that Primus was the last man to leave the Wembley turf last weekend, taking in all the celebrations and revelling in them. Yep it is a team game but how many other players that have not played at all in the season and were going to be out of contract at the end of that campaign would have been as involved as that? I dare say not too many to be honest…

Hopefully we can win the FA cup and Primus does get his new deal so he can hopefully play in the community shield on August 10th. If we do make it I for one also plan to be there again, as if for nothing else if I was able to see him make his Pompey return in that game it would be fantastic.
