Adams’ future put on hold

Tony Adams is putting all talks about his own future, and what this will be with Pompey on hold until after the FA cup final.

Once again when this summer comes round Adams will be out of contract so we do not know if he will stay with Pompey or decide to spread his wings and take up a managerial role of his own elsewhere – which as we all know is something that he does want to do.

At this point in time though, as he has told The News this is not something he is thinking about at the moment, the upcoming fixtures, including the biggest of them all the FA cup final are what he is focusing on: ‘I’m not contracted past the end of the season so we’ll see. These football clubs do everything at the last minute.

‘It’s done that way, it always has been and I’ve been in this game long enough to know how it works, so we’ll see.

‘I don’t know what I’m doing about my future. I’m not even thinking about it at the moment. I’m just getting on with the job to be honest and we’ve got some big games coming up.’

I would hope that he stays, as the team that we do have in place is fantastic at the moment, but you can never tell what will happen and what changes might be made? Another year would not hurt I do not think, but it depends what jobs come up over the summer, and what he is offered really.

I have a few theories on what might happen but at this point in time, much like Adams I am just thinking about the games that we have left, whatever happens after will be bridges we will cross at that point in time.
