Former Nottingham Forrest manager Paul Hart has been appointed director of youth operations at Portsmouth. This is an important step towards the future of our club as we play catch-up with other premiership teams.

Peter Storrie said:

‘Sacha Gaydamak wants the best and he asked myself and Harry to find the best. We approached Paul and he was only too pleased to get back to what he believes he does best, which is working with young players. He’s got an unbelievable track record with youth football and the final piece of the jigsaw, as far as we’re concerned, is now in place.”

‘The club is committed to developing a solid foundation for the future based on home-grown talent and there is no-one better at doing that than Paul.’

Former Forest manager Hart said:

‘Portsmouth is a club that has big ambitions for the future. I’ve been very impressed by the club’s plans both on and off the field, and a successful Academy and youth operation will play a big part in that.’

Ninety percent of fans think it`s crucial that Portsmouth invest in a youth academy.
