Pompey’s date with their saviour

Saturday afternoon will see Pompey come face to face with the man who quite literally saved us from near certain extinction – Milan Mandaric, now chairman of Leicester.

It will most probably be an emotional day for all concerned, but those of us that were fortunate enough to meet Mandaric through the South West Supporters Club all those years ago at that hotel in Swindon, when he explained his visions for the club – something which has seen virtually all his dreams, apart from the stadium come true – will no doubt cast an even closer eye over the game.

There will absolutely no doubt about it be a massive turn out of Pompey fans, not simply because it is the final chance to see the players before the season kicks off, against the most high profile opponents we have faced in pre season, in this country anyway, but because it is Mandaric’s new team.

I just wish I could be one of the thousands to make the trek to the Midlands, but without transport from my South West base, not to mention a ticket for the all ticket match, I will be unable – radio coverage will have to do for me on this occasion unfortunately.

PLAY UP POMPEY!
