This is what MikePTID considers Pompey’s best 11.

Not necessarily the ‘best’ 11 on ability as otherwise they’d all come from the squads of last two seasons!

Goalkeeper
Alan Knight (Not as good a keeper as Jamo but gave the club outstanding service, playing in all 4 divisions.)

Defence
Warren Neill (A good club servant who rarely had a bad game.)
Arjan De Zeeuw (Top leadership.)
Linvoy Primus (Genuinely great bloke and a tower of strength. When playing with Campbell, the uninitiated would have struggled to identify the man with 50+ England caps.)
Matt Taylor (For no other reason than scoring the penalty at Wigan to keep us in Prem.)

Midfield
Robert Prosinecki (Simply the most skilful player I’ve seen in a Pompey shirt.)
Paul Merson (Should really be amongst the forwards, but without him we’d still be in Fizzy Pop league.)
Darren Anderton (I’d probably add him to my midfield to make up the eleven!)

Forwards
Guy Whittingham (Goal machine.)
Paul Walsh (A player who always got me on edge of seat when in possession.)
Alan Biley (Talismanic forward who played with a smile.)

Notable absentees
Goalkeepers
Peter Mellor, John Milkins and David Best.

Defenders
Steve Foster, Kit Symons, John Beresford, Paul Went, Steve Aizlewood.

Midfielders
Norman Piper, Joe Laidlaw, Vince Hilaire.

Forwards
David Kemp, Mark Hateley, Colin Garwood.

No right or wrong…
Remember there is no ‘right or wrong’ it is the opinion of the individual who is selecting, people might not agree but it is their call, so lets respect this.
