Yesterday PompeyMilhouse28 put out his plea to fans to try and help him in his quest to get some Pompey gear sent out to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he is shipping off to this week – Iraq that is, by doing so he, and many other Pompey fans will miss the rest of the season and of course the FA cup semi final, and a possible final?
In order to keep morale high he was hoping that the club could send some gear out to the troops to make them feel ‘closer to home’ kind of thing, and at least try to get into the spirit of things.
I am pleased to announce that with the help of Vital Pompey he has been able to make contact with the club and his pleas have been answers, because as a result they have agreed to ship 125 foam hands and 125 foam FA cups out, and there could also ‘possibly’ be some semi final t-shirts also shipped out too!
This is a fantastic gesture by Portsmouth Football Club who wasted no time in helping him out.
I believe that PompeyMilhouse28 has written to Soccer Am to explain what the club did for him, and he is also going to get some photos of the troops displaying their Pompey colours sent to the show too, which will hopefully be shown in the coming weeks, possibly if not before ‘maybe’ on semi final weekend?
I was in contact with him a fair bit yesterday and he is going to keep in contact with Vital Pompey the best he can whilst he is out there, and said that he is hoping to get some photos sent over, as well as trying to get his fellow Pompey supporters out there to check out the site and send their thoughts on the club over through him.
All that is left to say is to wish him, and the other brave men and women over there the best of luck, hopefully they can all keep save and well and lets hope that Pompey can end the season strongly to send some joy over to them, hopefully the foam FA cups will not be the only cups they, and us see in the near future.
