Brett Pitman’s performance in Saturday’s 2-2 draw was seen as the best one from a Pompey player against Rochdale.

Having been asked to vote – based on your experience of the game as a watching one at Spotland or listening on the radio – with 63% Pitman got this well ahead of anyone else to win the Vital Pompey MotM poll.

What the poll asked – Rochdale MotM

How you voted – Pitman 63%
Whatmough 18%
Lowe 18%
McGee 1%
Thompson 0%
Clarke 0%
Donohue 0%
Walkes 0%
Evans 0%
Close 0%
Naismith 0%
Sub – Kennedy 0%
Sub – O’Keefe 0%
Sub – Hawkins 0%

When you bag a brace – another one – and play a key part in the dramatic equalising goal in added time I think it fair to say it wasn’t exactly a difficult decision to make to go for Pitman was it?

If the captain can keep delivering the goods in the coming month, ideally continuing at Home Park against Plymouth on Saturday, then there’s every chance the Blues can still make it into the play-offs, when we’ll look for Pitman to spearhead the Championship charge.

A word for Jack Whatmough too, as his impressive return to the side saw him finish as joint-runner up behind Pitman. The local lad has won a number of these votes since his return, but missed out on Saturday, as he had to Luke McGee against Wigan.

Next up we’re looking for your views, as always, on what you think to the latest poll question. This is focusing on our potential play-off chances? Do you think we can make it? This requires you to vote – on the front pages or in the forum – in one of the ways given.

What the poll is asking – Head NOT heart…can we really make the play-offs?

Options to vote – Yes
I’m not sure, it’ll be clearer after Plymouth
