Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

12/4/1928: Charlie Mortimore
12/4/1944: Brian Yeo
12/4/1952: John Lathan
12/4/1954: Stuart Croft
12/4/1988: Wes Fogden

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Charlie Mortimore, Brian Yeo, John Lathan, Stuart Croft and Wes Fogden – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Mortimore, Yeo, Lathan and Croft were all before my time and not really that well known to me by name.

Now, Fogden I do recalled pretty well, such a shame he had such a bad injury when he did. I’m not sure he would still be at Fratton Park now, but I do think he would have lasted longer than he did to be honest.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 20
Won – 5
Drawn – 6
Lost – 9

It hasn’t been such a good day as only five games have been won with almost 50% lost.

For some reason I have absolutely no recollection of it, but I was at the defeat suffered at the hands of Coventry when they came to Fratton Park in 2011, which probably isn’t a bad thing…

What are your memories of Mortimore – probably the only one before the time of anyone reading, Yeo, Lathan, Croft and/or Fogden from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
