Steve Cotterill has targeted bringing in a couple of strikers before the transfer window closes and sky sports ‘understands’ that we have ‘lodged’ a decent sized money offer for one target…
We ‘seem’ to be showing no let-up in our attempts to sign Martin Paterson, and it is the Burnley man that they say we have made our move for.
The report said: ‘it is believed that Portsmouth have made an offer in excess of £2million and Burnley are now considering their options.
‘The 24-year-old is believed to be part of Eddie Howe’s plans at Turf Moor – but the offer may be too good to turn down.
‘Steve Cotterill will now be hoping to conclude a deal for the former Scunthorpe man.’
That kind of money, assuming it is true, may well be too good to refused…
I know the guy is a decent footballer – especially at this level – but I still have my reservations about him because I think that kind of money for someone who has had injury problems like him in recent years is a bit of a risk, but there you go!
Has Cotterill finally found the striker he has been after, and could sky sports ‘understand’ this right?
PLAY UP POMPEY!
