Happy birthday to Alexander Brown, William Williamson, James Nichol, Basil Hayward, Derek Gamblin and George Ley – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.
Brown, Williamson, Nichol, Hayward, Gamblin and Ley were all before my time – clearly the first four before that of anyone – and not really known to me in most cases to be honest.
Now onto the games previously played.

Not too much in it but with 10 defeats this is the most common outcome for Pompey today – all being well we can even it up with a 10th victory at Rochdale this afternoon?
I can claim memories from a few games today, but have managed just the one. This was the draw with the lot down the Road at the St Mary’s in 2012, so it wasn’t a bad one to be at to be fair. WHAT a goal it was from David Norris at the death, I was right behind it and knew it was in from the moment he struck it, get in.
