19/1/1977: Bissan Lauren
Happy birthday to Ron Newman, Dennis Edwards and Lauren – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.
Newman and Edwards were both well before my time and not known to me to be honest.
I do recall Lauren well – mainly from his time with Arsenal – but his spell with Pompey will be recalled for the length of time he remained without having any involvement for the Blues really.

I didn’t go to the most recent FA Cup win over Ipswich in 2016 at Fratton Park – where we deservingly won the replay – and don’t think I was at the 2008 league win against Derby at Fratton either when Benji scored a hat trick in a win, so, it appears a blank day for me?
