Not an ideal time is it…

Talk of speculation linking your manager with a move to another club is never ‘ideal’ at the best of times is it, but when this comes at the beginning of a transfer window when you are desperate for players to arrive this is even more ‘inconvenient’…

With uncertainty surrounding the future of Harry Redknapp this is not doing us any favours with making the signings that we need to – not only replace those currently in Africa, but also in making signings that were needed anyway.

How much money we have remains to be seen – not a lot from the looks of it though, but the more days that go by where we are unable to at least start approaching, let alone start negotiating with potential targets, the more likely it is that we will miss out on people.

We need players in, and although we should not and will not be making ‘panic’ signings the sooner the picture surrounding Redknapp is 100% clarified either way the sooner we can start bringing in these fellas that we need to.

I have made no secret of the fact that I am ‘concerned’ that he might be tempted, but this part of me keeps saying he is not going to go. There is this other part that is also saying that he is hoping he can use this to try and convince Sacha Gaydamak to give him a bit more cash to spend this month too though?

Either way, we need to know where we stand, if this future has to be without Redknapp, as much as I would hate to see this we need to know sooner rather than later. If it will be with him I would be absolutely delighted, but again we need to know as soon as, so we can put any uncertainty that potential targets might be having as to ‘who’ they would play for to bed.

Lets not try to hide the fact that players ‘want’ to play for him, he is a draw that has attracted so many players in the past – and hopefully will many more in the future – but until they know if it is him they will play for we will not sign anyone, so lets get this sorted once and for all and get these players in that we need.
