Tom Naylor, having recently given, in the view of a fair few, his best performance for the club, opened his goalscoring account for Pompey on Saturday.
Naylor, very much in the utility mould, finished off a corner from Dion Donohue, himself back in the side for the first time in League One this season, to put the Blues ahead midway through the first half.
Breaking his duck obviously pleased Naylor.
Buzzing to get my first goal for the club!. 3 points on the road again!

The social media view, of course not from everyone, is that Naylor has been a consistent performer, who perhaps doesn’t get the plaudits.
Naylored it! ????????

I thought you were outstanding today Tom and showed so much passion and resilience in there. Fantastic performance and another 3 pts. A great day and a short walk home too as my local away game. PUP!

What a goal. If that second would of gone in. Goal of the season contender dude.

Not a prolific goalscorer, but after his first for the Blues, hopefully others will follow.

Well done Tom. Quietly getting on with the business. Keep it up #kirkbylad

Personally, I feel Naylor is a no-frills footballer who does what he’s good at and sticks to his limitations, which isn’t to say he’s not a decent footballer, as he is. Naylor’s not always going to get the plaudits, but we can rely on him and he’ll also chip in with the odd goal too.
