May be a good thing for Adam

Obviously we’ll hope Adam May’s loan with Gosport ‘WILL’ be a good thing and not ‘MAY’ be a good thing.

May, going into the weekend, completed a 1-month loan move to Gosport, with his only involvement this season in the Paint Pot at Exeter after his debut against Bury last season.

This was a move confirmed on portsmouthfc.co.uk.

May, who at only 17 still have plenty of time ahead of him, isn’t going to get too many 1st team opportunities in the Pompey midfield this season is he so he’ll only benefit, with his development continuing, with football somewhere.

This month at Privett Park will do him good, although I think Gosport got hammered in his debut at the weekend didn’t they!

People like May are ‘the future’, or at least we hope they will be, and Paul Cook does have him in his future plans as I’m pretty sure, along with Ben Close, May signed a new contract this summer didn’t?

If this loan goes well I think we’ll see it extended by another month, at least…

James Dunne, as we know, was another than went out on loan last week when he finally left for a month at Dagenham.

Does he have a Pompey future? I think it’s safe to say this is a no but Cook wouldn’t be drawn on this when speaking to the News.

He simply said, when asked if his future was away from Fratton, ‘it’s his call’ – aka he’s not in my plans! – as to what happens next:

‘It’s not for me to say.

‘His injury hurt him in pre-season so, logically, he didn’t get games when others did.

‘He’s attracted bits of interest as you’d presume. It’s his call.’

Cook is also looking to shift on some other ‘fringe players’ but there hasn’t been ‘as much interest as you’d think’ actually there ‘hasn’t been great interest’ at all!
