Kanu is being quoted on sky sports as saying that he is staying with Pompey this season – probably not a surprise really is it?

Last week the 30-something signed a 1-month contract, which seemed strange at the time, but had he not signed this contract he would not have been available to play a part in either of our opening games – as he did.

Now he says that everything has been ‘agreed’, and issues ‘resolved’, so he is staying for the season: ‘I didn’t sign it (last week) because we had some issues that we had to thrash out and the club wanted me to play. All the issues have been resolved.’

At least this is another body, seemingly, committed – now we just have to use him in the right way, which for me is from the bench but surely from the bench alongside a striker, not as the lone striker…

Whereas Jamie’s Dad has told sky sports news that he is not ‘plotting a move’ for David James: ‘I couldn’t do anything with David. I think he’s a great goalkeeper but he belongs to Portsmouth and we’re not in the market to buy another goalie.’

That means he is interested then 😉

James has again today been talking positively about how he feels things are going, behind the scenes, so I am more confident that staying is something that he really does want and talk of him leaving is nothing more than shabby journalism…
