Pompey Chimes: Duo in Team of Week

England duo David James and Sol Campbell earned themselves a place in the Team of the Week in The Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Barclays Premier League, after guiding Portsmouth to two clean sheets in the space of a week.

James, the top-ranked goalkeeper in the Index, posted 14 points against Newcastle and 19 points against West Ham, while Campbell made seven tackles, three passes and two blocks over the two games to notch up a total of 29 points.

James, one of three Pompey players in the top 50, stayed 22nd in the Index with 452 points while Campbell is 54th with 356 points.

Glen Johnson sits 35th in the Index with 400 points, while fellow defender Sylvain Distin is 50th with 371 points.

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player’s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards.
