It’ll Be A Long Old Wait

|

This week’s announcement of the postponement of Charlton’s visit to Fratton Park meant Pompey would be going around a month between Fratton games.

Although, given the home form hasn’t matched that on the road, is that really a bad thing? Yes, Fratton games should be our bread and butter, but this recent return of points on our own patch hasn’t been what you would expect from a table-topping side.

I would imagine most, if not all, know why the Charlton game – scheduled for Saturday 17th November – was postponed? If not, the international call-ups the Addicks have received meant they had the right to seek a postponement.

Charlton will now come to Fratton on Tuesday 11th December, kicking off at 7:45pm.

Due to this League One game not going ahead, the next league game, at Fratton, will be the one against Walsall on Tuesday 27th November. We will have the Checkatrade Trophy game against Tottenham’s U21 side on Tuesday 13th though.

Obviously, we’ve got the FA Cup game against Maidenhead next Saturday, but all being well, including that cup-tie, the away form can continue as it’s been going to keep us well placed – if not top – in League One, which would also retain our unbeaten away record too.
