The spanking that we took at Old Trafford against Manyoo yesterday was crushing, although in many ways not unexpected was it – well, at least defeat was ‘pretty much expected’ in any case. Clearly we went there with ‘a plan’, the team selection said it all. To be fair, whilst Manyoo were ALWAYS in control we had a few chances, but WE ARE NOW AT THE POINT WHERE WE BASICALLY HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE NOW SO LETS GO OUT FIGHTING!
Sod looking to ‘contain teams’, clearly we are not able to do this, we concede – albeit not that many, on the whole – either way, then again we have trouble scoring but lets just throw caution to the win and go for it, like I say we have NOTHING TO LOSE NOW…
Whilst I will not give up until it is mathematically impossible to survive you do have to be realistic about the situation and the likelihood that we will stay up must be 60:40 against, at best, now.
We have won, what, 4 league games all season – so, to stay up we would have to win about another 8 games I would say, of course it is not impossible but it is not that easy to find that form, and will be even harder if we do no go for it.
If we go for it and lose, or even get spanked, in all honesty I would prefer us doing that than ‘playing safe’ and most probably losing anyway, potentially even being spanked a la Old Trafford!
Everything is stacked against us, as it has been for most of the season but come on Avram just go for it now – you are in a no lose situation, if we go down it is what was expected anyway so what have you lost? If we go for it and put up a mighty fight for this, if we stay up you are a hero, even if we do not if we are going all out for this, again you retain that status…
Lets just enjoy it, well enjoy as much as we can – it has been a horrendous season, without a doubt mostly due to the ‘off-the-field’ events, people have fought on but now I think that all that can possible be done/tried has, so lets all get back to ‘on-the-field’ activities and make the most of this.
WHAT WE ALSO HAVE TO REMEMBER IS WE, THE FANS, COULD PLAY A MAJOR PART IN OUR FUTURE!
Quite who would want to take on the club remains to be seen, but Portsmouth Football Club IS in the shop window so lets show a potential buyer that the most important thing that we have going for the club is US, lets continue to fight on in the face of a seemingly dire situation and continue to show just why someone SHOULD take a punt on PFC, we are very much worth it!
Sod the pussy footing around against Sunderland on Tuesday, lets rip into them from the off as that is a no two ways about it, must win at any costs game, and ‘if’ we are to stand any chance in our fading chances we MUST win that game so lets go for it, but lets also REALLY crank up the volume and get Fratton rocking, both for the support of the club in an effort to give the players that extra motivation but ALSO to try and catch the eye of that potential saviour…
