Hermann Hreidarsson can celebrate after he was named Iceland’s footballer of the year for a third time.

He has won the award in 1997 and 2000 and managed to oust – Pompey transfer target? – Eidur Gudjohnsen into 2nd place to gain this award and complete a hat-trick of wins.

Congratulations to Hreidarsson who looks like he will be able to celebrate this by getting back the left back place that he lost when he got injured. He lost this to Noe Pamarot but he is now himself out with an injury.

Hopefully this will not be the only thing Hreidarsson will be celebrating this season…
