Hart on Citeh defeat

Yet again, but in defeat, Paul Hart was happy with what his Pompey troops offered in the 1-0 defeat against Citeh at Fratton yesterday. He knows that we missed chances, and this costs us, but he was also content with the showing – also saying that he wants David James to stay, so now we just have to hope he does.

See Harts views on the above, and more, in this sky sports video…

It was the usual story though of what limited chances we had we failed to take – and at this level we must take them, but once again I was very encouraged by what I saw and thought the crowd were good as well.

Now we need this week-in-week-out, but we need to start scoring!

With the other signings that we have to come in, and quite probably a couple more before the deadline, I still think that we will have enough to survive but Bolton is very much a ‘must win’ game in a couple of weeks time.

I could not fault the players effort, commitment or determination – we never gave up, and that is what we need.

For me Michael Brown deserves a special mention – I was not overly convinced by his signing but I thought he was fantastic, if we get that week-in-week-out we will not go far wrong, and to be fair although he runs around all over the shop he did not look like a headless chicken, there was purpose to what he did.
