As said previously its too soon to cast judgement on CSI, in general and what their transfer plans will be, but it makes a real change to have ‘links’ to players and feel more of a genuine optimism that we may well pull off the signings.
Not having a constant ‘never gonna happen’ thought with each link we read, of course some will not come off for whatever reason, makes a refreshing change and its nice not feeling totally pessimistic about the chances of landing a player(s).
The best thing of all is that ‘rumoured targets’ are starting to talk up their willingness to sign for us!
This means ‘part of the battle’ is won.
Agreeing a realistic and sustainable deal, that is mutually beneficial – and not just a ‘one way street’, as used to be the case – is what we then need.
Brian Howard has spelt out, with his comments in The News this weekend, that he wants in and that is a positive thing, right?
Hungry, eager and talented players are what we need, and what I want to see at PFC.
These players wanting to play for us – as he says he does (of course we cannot be too naïve in our belief of what players say) – is exactly what we need and want…
