Gone but it looks like he will be back

The loan of Greg Halford has now ended, well technically it was not due to end until 3rd January, according to sky sports, so I am surprised he has gone back to Wolves so early…

Halford is suspended for the Boxing Day game against Millwall although with games against Leeds and Watford, after Millwall, before the loan would end why has he returned to Wolves early?

His loan must surely have ended sooner than 3rd January as ‘reported’, right?

Whatever though we have lost the services of Halford until the transfer window reopens again, although it is ‘expected’ that he will return to Fratton for a further loan spell – and until the end of the season this time.

A ‘loan with the option to buy’ looks the most likely scenario, although with Mick McCarthy saying that he would like Wolves to recoup most of the money they paid for him, which was £2m, a permanent transfer would ‘seem’ unlikely at the moment really…

Lets not run before we can walk though, just getting him back on loan until the end of the season would be a bonus at this point in time, so that would do.
