Football league fear for Pompey

As the new ‘financial fair play’ rules come into play the football league chairman, Greg Clarke, has admitted he fears for our future.

Fan power alone will probably not be enough to prevent Pompey from being liquidated…

And liquation is something he fears, as he told sky sports news, could happen: ‘the debts at that club are immense, we are talking tens of millions of pounds.

‘Now unless someone comes with significant capital to invest in that club, the club will be liquidated by the administrators.

‘So it all depends if someone turns up with millions of pounds to invest in Portsmouth.

‘The size of that bill may be too big for the local fans, I think the people of Portsmouth are doing their best to raise money, but it’s a big ask to raise tens of millions of pounds from football fans.’

I think we all realise the position that we are in, but if not then these thought should give you that wake-up call needed eh!

Clarke ‘expects liquidation if a new owner does not come forward this summer’ but hopefully they will, and will do this in conjuncture with the proposed fans buyout…
