End of the line?

WOTS (word on the street) tells us at Vital Pompey Towers the following: ‘Cotterill has had informal discussions (with Forest) only at this time. CSI awaiting formal approach before making a final decision on allowing formal contact.

‘It is not known what this means in reality, could be that they are giving Cotterill the chance to make a decision – is feeling the pressure?’

It does seem an odd one at the moment. With some form of ‘stand off’ seemingly happening?

Either way, speaking personally, I am not sure how much gas is left in the tank as far as the Cotterill and PFC engine goes…

I could be way off mind!

But put it this way if Cotterill is willing to talk to other clubs this suggests that he would move on – is this because he, as WOTS puts it ‘feels under pressure’ or maybe thinks he has done all he can at PFC. Then again he may view Forest as a better ‘long-term’ option?

Forest have a tradition as one of England’s finest so, as much as we have history and tradition ourselves, they are a massive club so you could see the appeal, right?

Then we have CSI to take into account.

If they are willing to let him talk to other clubs then they are willing to let him leave – is this because they are unsure how much more he can offer, do they have someone else in mind or, and this is unlikely, are they really unwilling to ‘stand in his way’ of another option?

I retain my thoughts, that I have all along, that I cannot see Forest paying us compensation. So, if this is a factor it is a no-go from the off!

I guess – and this is pure speculation – that a lot would depend on mutual agreements between all parties on this issue for him to potentially leave and take over at The City Ground.

Whatever happens now though, and again these are just my thoughts, I am not sure that there is much way back for him and I am not convinced that he will be our manager for too much longer come what may.

Although all in all, as I often say ‘time will tell’…
