How do we turn our form around?

An article from PompNut who looks back, and reflects, on what the outcome of his recent ‘so how do we turn our poor form around’ poll – read on for more.

Not long ago I asked in a poll ‘So how do we turn our poor form around?’ And the results are as followed:

New manager in ASAP 46%
The players need to wake up 27%
Add an assistant manager 19%
Results will come, give it more time 8%

As you can see almost half of you thought a new manager was the solution, just over a quarter thought the players need to wake up, about a fifth thought an assistant manager was the way forward and a small count of voters thought that results will come in time.

Firstly, thanks to all that voted it gives me some insight to the views of the users of Vital Pompey and what needs to change because something must change and very quickly too if the club wishes to carry on maintaining stability.

It is very hard to put your finger on it, but results aren’t coming our way at the moment are they? One thing the majority of fans I have spoken to believe on paper we have good quality with premier league and international experience, however barring a few games (West Ham, Reading & Peterborough) the performances haven’t been up to standard. But we have to remember this is a new-look team and gelling together takes time. But have we had enough time and practice to gel?

Cardiff have a new look team but have been successful very quickly, but although a different pedigree, on the other end of the spectrum Man City have taken a season or two to be at there most potent! The jury’s out on this one.

Maybe motivation’s the key? We all know it appears to take players 45mins to turn up at matches. It is just bad luck? West Ham and Peterborough games both deserved at least a point each for Pompey.

Then there’s the whole SC debate, is the bad form solely down to the manager? Do fans around the country act too quickly to point and blame one man? Whatever the reasons we must turn things around and with some winnable home fixtures coming up this should be the time to start climbing the table and easing the worry and panic of fans! (Especially moaning nags like me lol)

One thing is for sure let’s try and stay positive, back the team, and turn Fratton Park back into a fortress! That’s our part! And that’s what us fans are famous for! Loyalty, Faith and Pride!

PLAY UP POMPEY, POMPEY PLAY UP!!!
