Michael Eisner will complete his Pompey takeover before the start of the League One season, which of course gets underway on Saturday when Rochdale come to Fratton Park.
Hence by assumption based title of ‘Eisner installed by Saturday.’
In actual fact you suspect the official confirmation of the deal will be held off as close to kick off as possible so the American can see his Tornante Investment group announced on the day.
Sky Sports said: ‘Michael Eisner will complete his purchase of Portsmouth before the start of the EFL season, according to Sky sources.’
Adding: ‘The sale of the club to Eisner’s Tornante Investment group was approved by the Portsmouth Supporters’ Trust in May.’
Things have gone a little quiet with Eisner but this takeover had always been set for August completion so, in my mind anyway, wasn’t ever in doubt and I’d expect to see him on the Fratton Park pitch on Saturday, taking his place in the directors box for – hopefully – an entertaining Blues victory over Dale.
Meanwhile, having only gone on sale this morning, tickets for the opening away game at the Kassam Stadium against Oxford, Saturday 12th August, have sold out – they went in a matter of hours.
